Police confirm: the perpetrator was indeed drunk; he had 1.7 per mille of alcohol in his system. He is a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen who lives in Bolesławiec.
The man was detained. He faces up to 3 years in prison.
The incident occurred during the night of May 18–19.
According to a Reader, a young driver crashed into barriers near the railway station in Bolesławiec. Our informant added:
The hydrant is under the car; he broke it, and water was gushing out.
He also added: – The fire service came to secure the site because the tank had been punctured.
The police are determining the causes and circumstances of the incident. Unofficially, we have information that a foreign national who was allegedly drunk was behind the wheel. More information soon.
