Starting on 22 June, the seasonal connection from Wrocław to Świnoujście will run again. We will reach this typically summer destination in just 5 hours and 13 minutes. The route will be served by modern Impuls 2 trains. The train from Lower Silesia to the seaside will run until 31 August.

The trains will run every weekend, as well as on 15 August. This makes it possible to adjust the length of a Baltic getaway as you wish—will it be a weekend, or perhaps a week? You can even decide on the spot! Tickets with seat reservations will be available from 23 May at the station in Legnica, at the Customer Service Office at Wrocław Główny station and via KOLEO.

– I encourage everyone to use the Koleje Dolnośląskie offer during their summer journeys. Our regional carrier’s trains are modern, comfortable and air-conditioned, so travelling on board will certainly be pleasant for the whole family. Koleje Dolnośląskie’s offer is truly extensive, so you can choose whether to spend your holiday, for example, on the Baltic coast in Świnoujście, in the Karkonosze Mountains, or perhaps visit the rock city in Czech Adršpach. Whatever the destination, it is worth choosing the train – says Cezary Przybylski, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

The ninth season of the “Train to Culture” has also begun. At weekends, it takes passengers directly from Wrocław to Berlin. This year’s edition is titled “Geschichte/n im Gepäck – czas historii, czas podróży” (“A time of history, a time of travel”), and its programme—primarily in literary formats—is dedicated above all to the anniversaries of important events in Europe. Kulturzug is a European festival of culture on wheels—still unique and repeatedly honoured for its exceptional character. It has already carried almost 100,000 passengers, while more than 1,000 international artists have been involved in the entire initiative. Tickets for the Wrocław–Berlin–Wrocław connection can be purchased via the KD website.

Koleje Dolnośląskie has also resumed the temporary Wrocław–Wałbrzych–Meziměstí–Adršpach connection. Every weekend, two pairs of trains carry passengers—one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. This makes it possible to reach the rock city conveniently and quickly, in just 2 hours and 20 minutes. Tickets for the entire route are available online, from the conductor, at ticket offices and at KD Customer Service Offices.

The network of regular Koleje Dolnośląskie connections is becoming denser every year, with more destinations being added. Connections are also being restored as part of the regional government’s project to combat transport exclusion. It is truly worth travelling by train around our region, as it can take you to such tourist gems as Szklarska Poręba (the Karkonosze and Jizera Mountains), Świeradów-Zdrój (the Jizera Mountains), Zagórze Śląskie (Grodno Castle), Oleśnica (beautiful historic monuments), Głogów (historic sites, underground passages and casemates), Wałbrzych (Książ Castle and the Wałbrzych Mountains), Głuszyca (the Osówka Complex), Lubań (a beautiful mineral collection), Bystrzyca Kłodzka (the Kłodzko Valley and Bystrzyckie Mountains), and many more.

Cycling enthusiasts will certainly be happy to visit the Barycz Valley. They can travel there, for example, aboard the “Ryszard Szurkowski”—a train that departs from Wrocław at 9:34. It is adapted to carry more bicycles than an average train. We can take it back to the capital of Lower Silesia at 17:03. In recent years, numerous cycling paths have been created in the Barycz Valley. One of them, running along the route of a former narrow-gauge railway, connects Milicz with Żmigród and passes through many picturesque areas: forests, meadows and ponds. Along the way, there are also eateries where you can stop for a meal.

Importantly, weekend train trips will not cost a fortune! All you need to do is buy a Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket to travel on KD and Polregio trains from Friday at 18:00 until Monday at 6:00 for PLN 59.
