More than a year ago, we reported that a 40 km/h speed limit was in force on Aleja Wojska Polskiego in Bolesławiec. A reader contacted us asking for the issue to be addressed.
In his opinion, some drivers treated the street like a racetrack. This particularly concerned drivers travelling downhill, from the direction of the military unit towards the city centre.
In September 2023, new road markings appeared on Aleja Wojska Polskiego (horizontal and vertical), partially excluding the roadway from traffic. The narrowing means that drivers have to slow down and, if necessary, stop and yield the right of way. This signage is also intended to slow traffic in that location.
Recently, a speed bump appeared on a section of Aleja Wojska Polskiego (when travelling downhill, below the intersection with Okrzei and Zwycięstwa Streets). This is another step towards improving safety on the street and slowing down drivers travelling at excessive speeds.
What do you think about these changes?
