During Wednesday’s City Council meeting, its chairperson was also elected. Józef Pokładek, deputy head of the City Council in the fifth term, was elected. Janina Piestrak-Babijczuk will serve as deputy chairperson (she headed the Council in the previous term). In both cases, the vote was identical: 14 councillors voted in favour and 6 abstained.

The City Council also adopted a resolution declaring the expiry of councillor Piotr Roman’s mandate in electoral district no. 3. Nineteen councillors voted in favour, while Jarosław Kowalski abstained (as he commented, in his opinion, the mayor would have been a good councillor).
