One of the final items on the agenda of Wednesday’s session of the Bolesławiec City Council was a vote on a draft resolution concerning the rules for granting allowances to councillors, the amount of those allowances and reimbursement of official travel expenses.
As Małgorzata Słonecka, secretary of the City of Bolesławiec, explained, the governor currently takes the position that the resolution must be published in the official journal, which was one of the reasons why it had to be adopted.
As the secretary pointed out, the rates for councillors have essentially not changed. However, the new document introduces the following modifications: higher allowances for committee chairs (from 70 to 80 per cent), as well as larger deductions for absences. Previously, the deduction was 10 per cent; now it will be as much as 20 per cent.
The resolution was adopted. Twelve councillors voted in favour, five against and three abstained.
