A reader contacted istotne.pl’s editorial office to report a problem with a municipal project on Powstańców Warszawy Street. A new road and sidewalk are being built there. According to the reader, construction of the road began in February, but for several weeks work on the section from the intersection with Żołnierzy Wyklętych Street to the already occupied building has been stalled. Gravel was spread there, and nothing is happening. In his opinion, everyone understands that this type of work is disruptive and takes some time, but when no one appears at the construction site for an extended period, something is wrong.

What is causing the disruption?

The reader claims that the work on this section of the road—between the sports field and the already occupied building—could have been completed faster. At present, residents of the building have no external parking area, which is now being used as an access road to the parking garage located inside the building. Signs have been posted stating Do not block the garage entrance, meaning that situations occur in which someone parks in the lot in front of the apartment block and blocks access to the available parking garage.

According to the reader, this is not the only problem. In his opinion, construction materials are being placed on nearby sidewalks, while cars are parked wherever possible, further reducing the number of parking spaces in the area, which are already difficult to find. Meanwhile, the city’s website contains the following information about the project:

By the end of June, a 424-meter-long road will be built, along with a 354-meter-long pedestrian and bicycle path. The street will be lit by 15 LED lamps with a smart lighting management system—Smart Lights.
