Cooperation between officers from the Police Station and the Municipal Guard in Nowogrodziec produced tangible results – it led to the arrest of a 27-year-old man caught red-handed.
Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters:
The man dug nearly 40 metres of cable out of the ground from a disused telecommunications line. The value of the losses was estimated at more than PLN 1,100.
And adds:
Items used to commit the offence were secured from the arrested man. In several places, the perpetrator dug holes and pulled out short sections of the cable.
After sobering up, the man was charged. He admitted his guilt. Theft is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
