The matter was reported to us by a Reader. In an email to the editorial office, they wrote:

Six months ago, while walking to work, I noticed beautiful new enclosures for waste containers. The enclosures were made using modern technology and complied with the applicable visual standards. And this is where the first dirty problem appears. In the old enclosures, built back in previous years, it was possible to hide the imperfections of human mess and lack of culture—throwing out sofa beds, refrigerators, armchairs, chairs, televisions, etc. […] Now things are completely different.

The second problem is the so-called “gravedigger’s peace of mind,” meaning the conduct of employees responsible for removing waste from the containers placed in the enclosures, but—as it turns out—nothing beyond that. I do not believe that the employees emptying the containers from the enclosures failed to notice what I am showing you in the photographs (and what has already been lying there for about a month and a half). Why do they not inform their superiors about this state of affairs?

I believe that if nobody has been caught red-handed in this littering situation, the cleaning services unfortunately have to swallow a bitter pill. I suspect there are more such places in Bolesławiec. I would like to appeal to the residents of Bolesławiec: let us clean things up while sitting in front of our monitors. Let us take photographs and publicize the issue! [podkreślenie pochodzi od redakcji]

As we managed to establish, Bolesławiec residents routinely throw old refrigerators, washing machines and televisions into the trash. Meanwhile, bulky waste and used electronic equipment can be handed in free of charge at Miejskim Zakładzie Gospodarki Komunalnej.

Jarosław Molenda, director of the office of Jan Molenda Zarządzanie Nieruchomościami, appeals to Bolesławiec residents to notify property administrators about such situations. The administrators will then commission the removal of the waste.
