During the March session of the Bolesławiec City Council, the issue of vandals who targeted, among other things, the city’s new lamps returned. (Read more: Bolesławiec launches a war on vandals. There is a REWARD!).

The city also has another idea for fighting vandals. – We have a project ready to create a very modern system with 400 state-of-the-art cameras. With a practically maintenance-free control centre – stated Piotr Roman. But he immediately added: – It would cost PLN 20 million.

The mayor informed the councillors that he had handed Deputy Minister Paweł Gancarz letters addressed to the head of the Ministry of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. They concern the launch of another government programme intended for cities hosting US Army soldiers. The Bolesławiec municipal authorities have two demands:

  1. completion of the construction of the eastern bypass,
  2. ensuring the safety of residents.

The key element in fulfilling the second demand is to be the expansion of the monitoring system. The head of the Bolesławiec municipal office added that the office had already written about this matter to former Minister of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak, but without success.
