– I have spoken with the fire service commander, and I believe it would be advisable to establish a Volunteer Fire Service in Bolesławiec – said Piotr Roman during the March session of the Bolesławiec City Council. Part of the site where the Bolesławiec County State Fire Service Headquarters is currently located would be used for this purpose. (The remainder is to be allocated for parking spaces.)

The idea was supported by st. brig. Andrzej Śliwowski, the county commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, who was present at the session:

There are situations when all our units are dispatched to major disasters on national roads, in industrial zones or outside Bolesławiec. Having its own Volunteer Fire Service would certainly significantly improve safety.

The head of the Bolesławiec fire service added that professional firefighters would certainly be willing to get involved in the project – both active-duty and retired personnel, as well as adult volunteers from educational institutions in the county.
