The incident occurred on Thursday, March 21, in Milików. As reported by the Bolesławiec KPP, the intervention involved four volunteer firefighters. Three were fined PLN 500. (One of them had 1.8 per mille of alcohol in their system, the second had 0.2, and the third even less).
The fourth—a 29-year-old driver—was in a state after consuming alcohol. He will be held responsible for driving after consuming alcohol and under Article 70 of the Code of Petty Offenses, which reads:
Article 70. § 1. Anyone who, being incapable of performing an activity whose improper execution may endanger human life or health, undertakes such activity, or entrusts it to a person incapable of performing it, or, contrary to the duty of supervision, allows such activity to be performed by an incapable person, is subject to arrest or a fine.
§ 2. The same penalty applies to anyone who, contrary to the obligation to remain sober, is under the influence of alcohol, an intoxicating substance or another similarly acting substance or agent, and undertakes professional or official activities in that state.
§ 3. In the event of an offense specified in § 1 or 2, an order may be issued for the ruling to be made public in a special manner.
