On Monday, November 15, a ceremony was held to open the renovated pediatric ward at the district hospital. The ceremony was attended by, among others, district head Cezary Przybylski, deputy district head Stanisław Chwojnicki, Chair of the District Council Karol Stasik, Deputy Chair of the District Council Jarosław Molenda, member of the Bolesławiec District Board Dariusz Kwaśniewski, Mayor Piotr Roman, Chair of the City Council Janina Piestrak-Babijczuk, Secretary of Bolesławiec Municipality Andrzej Dutkowski, Head of Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality Mirosław Haniszewski and councillors of the Bolesławiec District Council.

The first to speak was Adam Zdaniuk, director of the Bolesławiec SP ZOZ. “The renovation of this ward is another project that has been completed thanks to the involvement of many parties,” he said. “I hope that a similar spirit of cooperation will accompany the hospital’s next steps aimed at improving the quality of our services.”

“The idea of renovating the pediatric ward arose during the thermal modernization project,” district head Cezary Przybylski notes. “At that time, head of the ward Waldemar Krajewski stated that since the ward had been renovated on the outside, the same should be done inside.

“It is wonderful to work here now,” Krajewski emphasizes. “The ward was, admittedly, laid out similarly before. It was just that the rooms looked completely different. The walls were covered in mold. But that is history now. We hope this will never happen again.”

Thanks to numerous sponsors, the pediatric ward has undergone a comprehensive renovation. The hospital also purchased new equipment, including a cardiac monitor, children’s beds and changing tables. Waldemar Krajewski also plans to decorate the walls of the renovated ward; colorful murals are to appear on them. “We want our patients to feel at least a little happier here,” he adds.
