The man reported to the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec after returning to Poland following several years abroad. The headquarters said: “The reason for his visit to the station was unusual.
It added: “The 49-year-old suspected that he was a wanted person because he had repeatedly broken the law by driving under the influence of alcohol, for which he had been detained by the Police and convicted by a court.
It further stated: “Verification of the Bolesławiec County resident in police databases returned a positive result. The 49-year-old was wanted under a wanted notice by the District Court in Kłodzko to serve a two-year prison sentence. The man was arrested and taken to a correctional facility.
The wanted man explained the reason for his actions to the officers. He stated that he wanted to start his life with a clean slate after returning to the country.
