The date in March refers to the tragic events of March 1, 1951. On that day, members of the Fourth Main Board of the Freedom and Independence Association—the leadership of the last nationwide organization to continue the tradition of the Home Army from 1945 onward—were murdered by shots to the back of the head in Mokotów Prison in Warsaw.
Residents of Bolesławiec gathered before the symbol of Fighting Poland on Kubika Street. The ceremony was attended by soldiers of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, representatives of local governments, associations and institutions, as well as scouts.
