The incident occurred on Friday, November 5. An employee of the Lotos petrol station informed the municipal police that a man had made purchases in the station shop, then placed a 100-euro banknote at the checkout and ran out of the building. The banknote was counterfeit. Municipal police officers apprehended the suspect. He turned out to be a Bulgarian national. The Bolesławiec police are conducting further proceedings in the case.
