As reported by the Wrocław branch of GDDKiA:

From Friday to Sunday (2–4 February this year) roadworks will be carried out on the A4 between the Kąty Wrocławskie and Pietrzykowice interchanges and on the A8 between the Wrocław Stadion and Wrocław Północ interchanges. On the A4, the work is related to the installation of an overhead gantry with variable-message signs and other equipment (including cameras), while on the A8 it involves dismantling an overhead gantry.
The work will be carried out between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Road workers clarify: –

On Friday, work will be carried out on the A4 carriageway toward Zgorzelec; on Saturday, on the A4 carriageway toward Wrocław, and on the A8 carriageway toward Kudowa-Zdrój. During the work, individual lanes will be closed depending on the progress of the work. There may also be brief traffic stoppages on both carriageways simultaneously.

And they explain:

The supporting structure of the gantry over the A4 was damaged in June 2023 as a result of a road incident involving a heavy goods vehicle. A video of the incident is available on Twitter. The video looks drastic, but no one was injured. Only road infrastructure was damaged.

We ask drivers to exercise caution and ease off the accelerator.
