Bolesławiec police officers were informed that cash had been found in the slot of an ATM located in the city. It had been left behind by the previous customer. The honest finder handed over one thousand zlotys to the officers.

The banknotes were then given to a neighbourhood officer from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, who began what later turned out to be several weeks of efforts to identify their owner. The officer’s perseverance and thoroughness produced the desired result. The officer established that the cash had been left in the ATM by a woman from Bolesławiec County. When the woman recovered her money, her joy was immense.
