– The 78-year-old resident of Lubin showed tremendous irresponsibility by setting off by car without properly preparing it for the journey. The windshield was frozen and fogged up from the inside, which made it completely difficult for him to see – reports junior aspirant Paweł Noga from the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters.
And he adds: – However, without waiting for the windows to defrost, the senior drove out onto the city streets. He did not even stop after almost hitting another vehicle, and then drove along the curb.
Before the roundabout, one of the drivers, seeing this dangerous situation, pointed out to the driver that he was creating a hazard for other road users. He made the senior aware that he had to clear the ice from the windshield. That did not help either. The Ford driver drove on.
The result? The stubborn resident of Lubin tried to drive straight through the roundabout. Ultimately, he damaged the car and got stuck on the traffic island.
Spokesperson:
The incident was noticed by traffic police officers, who immediately stopped next to the 78-year-old’s vehicle. The man tried to convince the police officers that a wheel on his car had burst. However, it quickly became clear what had caused the traffic incident. A witness also arrived at the scene and informed the officers that he had told the senior to stop.
Fortunately, no one suffered anything serious. The driver was fined.
