This afternoon, Kaufland supermarkets held a warning strike organized by OPZZ Konfederacja Pracy. The chain’s striking employees are demanding:
- a PLN 1,200 pay rise for every employee,
- an increase in the amount allocated to the Company Social Benefits Fund,
- an increase in staffing levels.
Employees affiliated with OPZZ Konfederacja Pracy at Kaufland claim that wages at the German Kaufland are rising several times faster than in Poland and are incomparably higher, while the pay rise proposed by the chain’s management amounts to PLN 180 net. The employees are also demanding increased staffing. In their view, one person currently does the work of two, or even three employees.
