At 4:20 a.m. on October 23, a resident of Ślusarska Street called the Bolesławiec Municipal Police and informed the officer that for several minutes she had been hearing banging on the floor and cries for help coming from her neighbor’s apartment. A municipal police patrol immediately went to the scene.

The apartment door was closed. The municipal police officers established that an elderly, sick man lived there. At one point, the man stopped responding to attempts to communicate with him. The officers forced the door open and saw an old man lying on the floor, holding a stick in his hand. The apartment was cold. The man asked for help. His lower limbs were deformed. An ambulance was called immediately.

A doctor diagnosed ventricular fibrillation. The man was taken to the Bolesławiec hospital.
