A reader wrote to the Editorial Office, outraged by the way roadworks are being carried out on provincial road no. 297 in Golnice.

I understand that they are repairing the road, but they only work on Fridays, leave the traffic lights in place for the rest of the time, even when nothing has been done, restricting traffic and creating traffic jams. Then, for the entire weekend and the whole week up to and including Thursday, the work stands still. There is no one at the roadworks. They return a few weeks later on Friday, and from Saturday until the following Friday the work stands still.
The road has been dug up and has been this way for several months. On top of that, a holiday gift: a hole running along the entire length of the road in the middle, creating a risk of a wheel falling into it and, as a result, the vehicle ending up in a ditch or colliding with a neighboring vehicle. It is a scandal to drag out the roadworks like this, leave the road in this state for the holidays, and then put it back into use.
We asked the Dolnośląska Służba Dróg i Kolei in Wrocław to explain the situation. We are awaiting a response.
