As reported by the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters:
Yesterday, from the early morning hours, preventive and inspection activities known as the “Alcohol and Drugs” operation were conducted throughout the voivodeship. The operation was aimed at checking as many drivers as possible and stopping those who were driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotic substances.
Inspections in the voivodeship
In Lower Silesia, more than 14,200 drivers were checked. Unfortunately, 42 of them were driving under the influence of alcohol, while 3 got behind the wheel after taking narcotic substances.
Inspections in Bolesławiec County
Officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police checked the sobriety of more than 670 drivers travelling on the roads of our county. In two cases, the test results were positive:
- A truck driver was checked after 6:00 a.m.; the 56-year-old had more than 1 per mille of alcohol in his system.
- An hour later, a police patrol stopped a passenger car for inspection. It was being driven by a 30-year-old resident of Żagań County. The sobriety test showed that the man had consumed alcohol and had committed an offence by getting behind the wheel.
