The Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office conducted an investigation into Jerzy S. starting in 2007. Investigators established that the Bolesławiec resident had repeatedly sexually abused a girl under the age of 15, physically and psychologically abused his wife, and assaulted his mother-in-law.

The man fled abroad. He was wanted under an arrest warrant and a European Arrest Warrant. He was detained on November 20 last year in Germany. In March this year, the Bolesławiec prosecutor’s office filed an indictment against S. with the court.

On October 12, the District Court in Bolesławiec sentenced the man to seven years and six months in prison, stipulating, however, that Jerzy S. may apply for conditional early release no earlier than after serving two-thirds of his sentence. In addition, the court imposed a lifetime ban on the convicted man holding any position, pursuing any profession, or conducting any activity related to the upbringing, education, treatment, or care of minors.

The judgment is not final.
