This year, the city received an award (well done!). At the President Invites Gala, there was mention of this year’s winners going on a trip (to EU institutions – ed. istotne.pl) funded with the money the city received.
She added:
And indeed, the trip is being organized, but only for students living within the city of Bolesławiec, while students from Bolesławiec schools who live in the municipality have been left out. So why are they invited to the Gala if they are from the municipality? Students who were not at the Gala are going in these children’s place. This is unfair to those who work hard all year.
As Agnieszka Gergont, spokesperson for Bolesławiec City Hall, explained to us, the school principals, in consultation with class teachers, decide who will go on the trip. And indeed – the rule is that children from Bolesławiec will go, because it was the City of Bolesławiec that received the Europe Prize.
