Update 2023-12-27
Paweł Dul:
in response to (...) the questions, the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Bolesławiec informs that repairs and servicing are carried out on an ongoing basis at all facilities managed by the Centre. Our goal is to create a space where every customer feels comfortable and safe.
Pool water is tested according to a schedule. Sanitary inspections carried out in 2023 revealed no irregularities. Periodic inspections were conducted at the facility, including ventilation, air conditioning, chimney, passenger lift and pool lift inspections, fire-extinguisher inspections and an electrical inspection.
In summary—the facility is fully operational and safe.
In November, we reported that we had received a very extensive submission concerning the Termy from a Reader:
I am a resident of Bolesławiec and for years have used the many benefits our city offers, including the Bolesławiec Salt Baths—one might say, a gem of our city. One could still say that a few years ago, when this facility was beautifully renovated and modernised after its inglorious collapse, but at present (...) it appears to be falling into decline, and I am worried that history may repeat itself.
The man listed his accusations:
- saunarium “neglected”;
- no ice machine (“it was a great attraction and a substitute for winter swimming, but unfortunately it was replaced with a little lamp”);
- no changing rooms;
- sauna rituals (“Where are the old days when rituals took place regularly every week, or even twice a week? Now they take place sometimes and sometimes they don’t, but that’s what happens when you employ people from outside”);
- “The illuminated board showing the temperatures in the individual pools has not worked for, I think, about four years, displaying some nonsense every time. Nobody reacts to it or cares about the fault; at present, it is no longer clear what it indicates”;
- lighting fixtures “in the pool, on its floor, have also not worked for a long time, I dare say: years”;
- no lighting in the small jacuzzi: “It is so dark there that you could break your legs while entering; it is only a matter of time before something happens”;
- lighting around the saltwater pool (“Some super-genius plugged the spaces left by the lamps with plastic caps and considered the matter resolved”);
- sunny meadow “has not worked for a good five years and nobody is willing to repair it”;
- the description on a changing-room locker—“the quality of the workmanship reflects the manager and their approach to the customer”;
- “LED lighting on the pool walls, which creates a unique atmosphere, also does not work properly. The most important part, namely the bas-relief hanging on the wall, is unlit: is it really so difficult to fix this fault, or does the director, who comes to the pool, not see it?”;
- a non-functioning entrance turnstile to the saunas. (“One time when I was in the saunas, the fire alarm went off at the pool. Recently, it had become standard for it to go off, and the aforementioned turnstile did not open while the alarm was activated, although it should have, because at that moment the people in the saunas had no way to escape if, for example, a sauna were on fire—that is surely no joke!!!!!!!!!!!!”);
- the inability to use Large Family Card or Resident Card discounts when purchasing a pool membership card. The submitter commented: “This is a mockery; customers are not respected. Someone who pays PLN 500 in one lump sum to top up their card can no longer use the other cards provided to us by the city. It turns out that it is better to buy a single-entry ticket, because then you can use all the benefits resulting from the Large Family Card or Resident Card, and therefore it is not worth paying the pool a large amount in one go to top up a membership card; where is the logic in that?”.
