Bolesławiec police on the incident:
Yesterday morning, a traffic collision took place in Bolesławiec. The van driver rear-ended a passenger car and fled the scene on foot.
Bolesławiec police officers checked the vehicle left at the scene and found that its registration plates belonged to another car. Further verification and information from the International Cooperation Section in Świecko convinced the officers that the vehicle had been abandoned because it had been obtained through a crime. It had been stolen in Berlin several hours earlier and was worth more than PLN 130,000.
