Officers from the Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec police headquarters once again conducted intensified sobriety checks on drivers travelling on the roads of Bolesławiec County. Nearly 540 drivers were checked. In two cases, the result was positive.

Officers: – The first person detained was a 55-year-old man who was driving with 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. His driving licence was immediately confiscated, and the car was handed over to a designated person.

They added: – A 25-year-old also got behind the wheel after drinking alcohol; a test showed nearly 1 per mille. The resident of Środa County had never held a driving licence.

Driving while intoxicated carries a penalty of up to 2 years in prison, long-term loss of a driving licence and financial consequences.
