As we read on the Osiecznica Municipality website:
In connection with the recent fires in residential buildings and out of concern for the safety of human health and life, the Mayor of Osiecznica Municipality and the Volunteer Fire Brigades operating in the Osiecznica Municipality appeal to owners, managers and users of buildings to have the heating installations and chimney flues in use inspected (smoke, exhaust and ventilation flues).
At the same time, the Mayor of Osiecznica Municipality informs that, pursuant to Article 96(1), (6), (7) and (9) of the Environmental Protection Law of 27 April 2001 (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2022, item 2556, as amended) and Resolution No. XLI/1407/17 of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Assembly of 30 November 2017, from 1 July 2018
THE BURNING OF THE FOLLOWING IS PROHIBITED:
- coal slurries and coal flotation concentrates, as well as mixtures produced using them,
- lignite and solid fuels produced using this coal,
- loose hard coal with a grain size below 3 mm (i.e. fine coal),
- solid biomass with a working moisture content above 20% (i.e. wood prepared for burning that is damp or waterlogged).
The mayor adds:
WHAT TO BURN: the following may be burned in every furnace:
- good-quality lump hard coal;
- untreated wood;
- straw briquettes;
- grain, as well as, for example, nut shells, seeds and other biofuels of this type.
WHAT NOT TO BURN: first and foremost, we should eliminate:
- coal slurry, fine coal, lignite and unseasoned wood, which release very large amounts of exhaust fumes into the atmosphere;
- processed materials, especially plastics, particleboard, materials with veneer or glue, as well as painted, varnished or impregnated wood and transport pallets;
- coloured paper—it is worth giving it up even as kindling. Coloured inks make it more difficult to burn paper and emit harmful compounds into the air.
