I would like to ask you to look into the matter of the car park at the special school. Parents who bring their children with disabilities, often in wheelchairs, frequently have nowhere to park. The entire area around the school is a paid parking zone.
We asked the Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych w Bolesławcu about the matter. Laura Słocka, the facility’s director:
(...) I would like to inform you that the number of students at the Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych w Bolesławcu has increased in the current school year, and consequently more cars transporting students and pupils arrive at the school. For parents and guardians transporting their children individually, there is a car park with six spaces on the school premises, as well as a parking space (a blue disabled-parking sign) for people with disabilities on ul. Bankowa. Minibuses transporting students and pupils (transport is organized by the municipalities), meanwhile, enter the school courtyard.
She adds: – The Parents’ Council and the school principal have repeatedly discussed improving parking arrangements during the hours when classes begin and end at the school. At the school’s initiative and at its request, a parking space for people with disabilities was created near the school.
And she emphasizes:
According to the Parents’ Council, the current arrangements make it possible to park cars safely and escort a child to school or pick them up.
