After the fire service units arrived at the scene, they began extinguishing the building’s roof using three aerial ladders. The residents left the building before the OSP and PSP units arrived.

Firefighters from Nowogrodziec on the incident:
Alert! At 1:55 a.m. (...) we were dispatched to a fire in an attic in the center of Nowogrodziec. Despite firefighting operations beginning immediately, the fire managed to spread over a large area. In addition, the thermal insulation beneath the structure consisted of straw, which is highly flammable, and to reach all the sources of the fire, practically the entire roof has to be dismantled.
Unfortunately, material losses are significant; no one was injured.

Let us recall. The fire broke out before 2:00 a.m. on the night from Sunday to Monday. The fire appeared on the roof of one of the buildings on Szpitalna Street in Nowogrodziec.
Several fire service units from Bolesławiec County were sent to the scene.
One reader described the incident as follows:
The chimney probably caught fire, and then the entire attic. I spoke with the owner, who, together with his son and daughter, still tried to put out the fire themselves, but the flames had already engulfed most of the attic and they had to evacuate. Fortunately, nobody was injured. The firefighters are currently extinguishing the fire, and more fire service units are arriving to help.
