As every year, the heating season begins at the request of consumers: the Housing Cooperative, Housing Community Managers, companies and others.
The beginning of the heating season was preceded by the necessary maintenance and repair work on the heat source and the heating network. To avoid possible failures, the network was gradually heated so that it could be quickly put into operation.
President of ZEC sp. z o.o. in Bolesławiec Jarosław Kowalski
– Every year, ZEC submits a tariff application to the Energy Regulatory Office. The tariff in force in 2023, in accordance with Information of the President of the ERO No. 9/2023 of 22 February 2023, was among the lowest in the region. The company is currently waiting for the announcement of the new tariff. The company has managed to negotiate a significant reduction in the purchase price of coal fines from Polska Grupa Górnicza. Next year, the purchase price will be up to 50% lower. ZEC is currently signing the relevant documents. Despite persistently high inflation, rising material and repair-service costs, and other cost factors, this will allow the price of heat to be maintained at a level comparable to that of the previous heating season,” says ZEC President Jarosław Kowalski.
The low price of heat is also influenced by the company’s “wise” management policy. The very high competence of ZEC employees has made it possible to carry out many repair and modernization works independently, including maintenance and repairs of boiler grates, slag removers and other equipment. ZEC has also implemented solutions improving the operation of equipment affecting the heat-production and flue-gas discharge processes.
– The work carried out by our employees enabled the company to achieve significant savings, amounting to hundreds of thousands of zlotys. Among other things, this allowed the company to achieve a positive result from its operations while maintaining a low heat price,” says President Jarosław Kowalski.
When producing heat, ZEC Bolesławiec complies with strict European Union environmental-protection standards. Flue gases are discharged in an integrated and controlled manner using a two-stage dust-removal system. Distributed low-emission heat sources, however, do not meet such stringent standards, including individual household furnaces and boiler rooms that have no safeguards for discharging flue gases into the air and in which low-quality fuels or waste are often burned. This is one of the main causes of air pollution.
It should be added that the district heating offered by ZEC is currently one of the cheapest, safest and most convenient forms of heating.
Taking into account EU directives and the EU’s pursuit of climate neutrality, ZEC Bolesławiec is preparing for the transformation process and a future transition to other heat sources.
ZEC Bolesławiec invites additional Housing Communities located near the heating main in the old-town area (including Rynek and B. Prusa streets) to connect their residential buildings to district heating.
