On Tuesday, 28 September, the European Classical Chess Championship concluded in Batumi, Georgia. Two Poles competed in the under-10 junior group, including Bolesławianin Kacper Grela. Our representative won an excellent fifth place. He missed out on a medal by just half a point.
It was a very successful debut for Kacper in an international event of this calibre. The tournament was very demanding—on average, each game lasted more than four hours. The young chess player will now compete in the World Championship, which will take place in Georgia from 19 to 31 October.
