During the ceremony, exceptionally gifted students from Bolesławiec primary schools who had achieved success in academic, artistic and sports competitions received commemorative pens and “Talent of the Year 2023” certificates. Eighth-grade graduates with documented academic achievements and outstanding eighth-grade examination results received the Mayor of Bolesławiec Awards. The award amounts to PLN 1,000.

– Such major achievements and successes are possible thanks to the students’ talent and—above all—hard work – said Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman, congratulating the award winners as well as their parents and teachers.

City Hall:

Basic criteria for selecting primary school graduates residing in the city of Bolesławiec for the “Mayor of Bolesławiec Award” for special achievements in the 2022/2023 school year:

  • an average grade of 5.1 or higher;
  • excellent or very good conduct;
  • eighth-grade examination results in Polish and a foreign language from 75% to 100%, and in mathematics from 70% to 100%.

The eighth-grade examination must meet the specified requirements in at least two sections. The selected graduates must have individual achievements (not team achievements) in competitions, contests and olympiads at least at the county level:

  • first places (finalists) in county and regional competitions;
  • finalists (first, second or third place) in voivodeship, national and international competitions, olympiads and contests.

Outstanding achievements that deserve recognition and result from basic activities carried out as part of fulfilling compulsory schooling are also awarded points. Graduates’ achievements concern only students entered by their school to participate in competitions.
