On Wednesday, September 20, a conference was held on Bobrowa Street with the participation, among others, of Lidia Markowska, head of the Wrocław branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways. Details of the investment were presented at the meeting.
What exactly will be done in the City of Ceramics?
Road officials:
The existing bridge, due to its poor technical condition and non-standard parameters, will be demolished, and a new one will be built in its place. Additionally, we will build a second one on the northern side, resulting in two parallel twin bridges. We will also build a section of the dual-carriageway DK94.
What steps has GDDKiA taken?
The office: “We have sent the tender documentation concerning the expansion of the transport system and the construction of the bridges for publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. The tender details will soon appear on GDDKiA’s purchasing platform.
More about the investment
- Each of the new bridges will have a two-lane carriageway, as well as a sidewalk and a cycle path providing good connections between the two banks of the river. (This solution is intended not only for motor vehicles, but also for pedestrian and bicycle traffic.)
- At both ends of the bridge crossings, turbine roundabouts will be built, with dimensions ensuring smooth traffic flow and complete freedom to choose the direction of travel.
- The DK94 will be reconstructed along a section of almost 600 m, and its load-bearing capacity will be increased to 11.5 t/axle.
- A roundabout will be built at the site of the current intersection of DK94 and Widok Street (voivodeship road no. 350), while the existing roundabout with Zgorzelecka Street will be reconstructed.
- The intersection of DK94 and Spacerowa Street (county road no. 2324D), as well as the intersection of DK94 and a municipal road (no. 104068D), will also be reconstructed.
- Bus bays will be moved outside the main traffic-flow zone, and a sidewalk will be added on the northern side of General Nila Street.
- A stormwater drainage system, road lighting and road safety elements will be built.
The Wrocław branch of GDDKiA announces:
The reconstruction of DK94 together with the construction of two bridges will increase the capacity of the transport system and improve road safety.
When will everything be ready?
The reconstruction is scheduled for completion in 2026. The investment will be financed from the state budget.
