A historic moment and historic elections—that is how Nonpartisan Local Government Representatives describe the registration of their lists. They add that it is a huge success, but also the result of the hard work of many people. It is also a success for the Mazowiecka Wspólnota Samorządowa, which is one of the leading forces among the Nonpartisan representatives. In Mazovia, all the submitted lists for the Sejm were successfully registered, that is, in five constituencies. The local structures rose to the occasion.
As Paweł Dąbrowski, Vice President of MWS, comments, the registration of the Nonpartisan Local Government Representatives’ candidate lists throughout the country is the result of many months of preparation and the hard work of many people. “We thank everyone for their commitment and help in collecting signatures. Now it is time for the election campaign, presenting the candidates and the election programme. Our representatives in the future Sejm and Senate will not disappoint voters. It is time for a normal Poland!” says Paweł Dąbrowski, deputy head of the BS campaign staff for Mazovia and a Sejm candidate from Warsaw.
In total, more than 350,000 signatures were collected throughout Poland, demonstrating the strength of Nonpartisan Local Government Representatives and allowing them to look optimistically at the election result itself. The first goal has been achieved; now it is time to exceed the statutory 5% threshold and introduce the first MPs into the Sejm. With turnout at the 2019 level, this means obtaining one million votes. The Nonpartisan representatives declare that they are ready, and that they have excellent candidates who have been proven in their everyday local-government activities.
“If we want to change Poland, the people deciding about our everyday lives must change. Changes are needed in parliament. Let us choose candidates with local-government experience, who know the concerns of ordinary people and can resolve them effectively. They are close to us; we can meet them at any time—they are often our neighbours. This is who the Nonpartisan Local Government Representatives are: experienced and devoted to working for the people of Poland. Let us choose them!” write the Nonpartisan Local Government Representatives.
