Nowogrodziec is one of those exceptional places that the Ministry of National Defence invited to participate in a military picnic from the “Strong White-and-Red” series.
During the ceremony, tribute was paid to the heroes by lighting candles and laying flowers beneath the monument to the Defenders of the Homeland.
Municipal officials: – Today in Nowogrodziec, we hosted representatives of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment named after Lieutenant General Tadeusz Jordan-Rozwadowski, the 16th Lower Silesian Territorial Defence Brigade named after Lieutenant Colonel Ludwik Marszałek, codename “Zbroja,” as well as representatives of the Military Police Branch in Żagań. The ceremony took place to the musical accompaniment of a magnificent military band. The folk groups Milikowianie from Milików and Gościszowianie from Gościszów also performed.
They added: – During the picnic, visitors could see heavy equipment up close, including the famous Leopard tank, as well as the soldiers’ individual weapons and the equipment they use. They could also test their shooting skills at a virtual shooting range.
