Officers from the Lwówek road traffic unit stopped a cyclist for a road check in Mroczkowice on August 13. – It turned out that the bicycle was being ridden by a 53-year-old man. The police clearly smelled alcohol on him, which was confirmed by a breathalyzer test. The result showed nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air – reports Staff Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski.

She adds: – During further proceedings involving the 53-year-old, the officers established that the man was wanted by the District Court in Lwówek Śląski. He has more than two years of imprisonment to serve for evading his child-support obligation, as well as for crimes against life and health.

The 53-year-old was taken into police custody. He was also fined PLN 2,500.

The officers: – We remind you that riding a bicycle while intoxicated is punishable by arrest or a fine.
