Jeleniogórska SPEED, established to combat aggressive driving, stopped a 54-year-old resident of Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, who lost her driving licence for three months for excessive speeding in a built-up area and thereby creating a road-traffic hazard.

The incident occurred on 1 August at around 5:30 p.m. Sub-Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra:

While on duty on Solidarności Avenue in Jelenia Góra, police officers noticed a Citroën travelling towards Karpacz at high speed. In Mysłakowice, on Górska Street, officers stopped the driver for a roadside check.

A 54-year-old resident of Wielkopolskie Voivodeship was behind the wheel, taking five grandchildren on holiday to Karpacz. The spokesperson said: “The police speed measurement device showed that in a built-up area, where the speed limit was 50 km/h, her speedometer indicated 102 km/h, meaning she exceeded the limit by 52 km/h.

The result? The woman from Wielkopolskie Voivodeship lost her driving licence for three months and was also fined PLN 1,500 and given 15 penalty points.

The officers said: “It turned out that the 54-year-old works as a professional driver for a transport company on a daily basis.
