Police officers from the Lubin police headquarters were notified about the theft of an electric children's car controlled by remote control. – As officers established, the owners kept the toy vehicle outside the door of their apartment, in the stairwell. Unfortunately, it became the loot of a 24-year-old resident of Lubin County – explains asp. szt. Sylwia Serafin, press officer of the Lubin District Police Headquarters. – Not only did the perpetrator steal the vehicle, but he also posted on a social media platform how his child was driving the car. The victim noticed this and reported the matter to Lubin police officers.
The suspect was detained the same day. Officers found the stolen vehicle in some bushes, several hundred metres from the perpetrator's place of residence. The car was returned to its owner.
At first, the detainee tried to explain that he had bought the toy from another person. However, he later admitted to the theft and voluntarily submitted to punishment.
Police: – We urge people not to leave their vehicles unattended, even for just a few moments. We never know whether someone will take advantage of an easy opportunity and steal our property.
