The first calls for applications for projects in which support for employers and working people plays an important role in adapting better to changes in the labour market have just been launched.

Support for employers

The experience of the Dolnośląski Provincial Labour Office (DWUP), which has been dealing with the situation on the labour market in our province for years and has repeatedly made use of European funds, shows that investing in improving and changing employees’ qualifications significantly helps employers develop their businesses.

Through DWUP, more than 4,000 Lower Silesian entrepreneurs have already benefited from assistance offered from European Union funds, sending nearly 12,000 of their employees to training courses. We therefore hope that the nearly EUR 42 million we will launch from the European Funds for Lower Silesia programme for development services, as well as courses and training for working people and those at risk of losing their jobs, will enable employers and residents of Lower Silesia to adapt more easily to very dynamic economic changes.

Courses and training

The first of the calls being launched (from 12 July) is intended for potential operators who will seek funding for projects related to the costs of development services—mainly training courses—resulting from needs identified by entrepreneurs. The next call (from 26 July) is addressed to all working adults who, on their own initiative, wish to improve their existing qualifications or acquire new professional skills.

Entrepreneurs and individuals participating in such projects will be able to choose suitable services from the Development Services Database (BUR) https://uslugirozwojowe.parp.gov.pl/, with funding of up to 100 percent. This database is an online register of, among other things, courses, training and advisory services, maintained by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP).

In the upcoming calls, applications for funding may be submitted by, among others, businesses, local action groups, non-governmental organisations, organisations representing employers, social economy entities, business environment institutions, adult education centres, schools and other educational institutions, and universities.

Smoother redundancies

This assistance will also be complemented by a call for applications planned for August to fund outplacement projects, meaning comprehensive measures to help dismissed employees and people leaving agriculture find their way in a new life situation. The main aim is to activate professionally those who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own. Outplacement applies when an employee has already been dismissed or when their position is at risk.
The detailed schedule of calls is available on the website www.rpo.dolnyslask.pl under the FEDS 2021–2027/programme documents tab.
