– The duty officer at the Lubin police headquarters received a report about a man who was directing traffic on national road no. 36, running through one of the towns in Lubin County, probably under the influence of alcohol. The caller was concerned by the worker’s behavior and his unsteady step – reports junior aspirant Tomasz Nowak from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
Traffic police officers quickly arrived at the scene, where they found two men directing traffic alternately. Spokesperson: – One of them was walking unsteadily, which immediately aroused the officers’ suspicions.
And indeed. The 44-year-old resident of Polkowice had more than three promilles of alcohol in his system. Junior aspirant T. Nowak:
The worker was immediately removed from his duties and replaced at work by a sober colleague. Officers determined that the worker also had no authorization whatsoever to direct traffic.

Thanks to the witness’s vigilance and the officers’ quick response, no one was hurt, and the case was referred to court.
The 44-year-old was arrested. He now faces a sentence of between three months and as much as five years in prison.
