Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn, while patrolling the Gromadka municipality in the evening, detained an intoxicated driver. The 49-year-old saw the police car, braked suddenly and began reversing.
After the vehicle was stopped and the Gromadka municipality resident’s sobriety was checked, the reason for his behavior quickly became clear. The man was driving while intoxicated; the test showed 1.6 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled breath.
The police immediately confiscated the driver’s license. Driving while intoxicated carries a penalty of up to two years in prison, loss of driving privileges and financial consequences.
