A firefighting and rescue operation involved fire service units from Nowogrodziec and Bolesławiec, an emergency medical team and the police. As we read on the Facebook profile of OSP Nowogrodziec:

Alert!
On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 6:46 a.m., we were dispatched to a fire in an abandoned building in Nowogrodziec on Sienkiewicza Street. We arrived at the scene seven minutes after the call and were informed that there was an injured person inside. We immediately entered wearing respiratory protective equipment and evacuated the injured person from the burning room. The person had been injured, lost their bearings and was unable to leave the building unaided. Qualified first aid was provided immediately.

The fire affected half of the first floor and the attic; multiple water streams were deployed. A firefighting platoon from our unit was sent to the operation, consisting of three units: GBA, SD and GCBA. At that point, the extinguishing of remaining fire hotspots and demolition work were underway. The police were at the scene, as was the emergency medical team, which took the injured person away (burned, suffering from smoke inhalation and in shock).
