The first incident occurred on June 24 on Sikorskiego Street in Lwówek Śląski. – Police officers from the Lwówek command noticed a cyclist whose riding style indicated that he might be under the influence of alcohol – reports Senior Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz from the Lwówek District Police Headquarters. – Such behaviour was dangerous not only for the man but also for other road users.

It turned out that the cyclist was completely drunk. A breathalyser test showed nearly 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his system.

The second arrest took place at night in Mirsk. The spokesperson says: – On Chopina Street, officers from the Gryfów police station checked a 59-year-old cyclist who blew 1.5 per mille of alcohol during a breathalyser test.

She adds:

Both residents of Lwówek County will have to pay a hefty fine.

She further explains:

For operating a vehicle other than a motor vehicle on a public road, in a residential zone or in a traffic zone while intoxicated, the fine is PLN 2,500.
