On Saturday, June 24, a rainbow was spread over the market square in Jelenia Góra. The organizers of the first march in Jelenia Góra were Kolektyw Tęczowe Karkonosze and Fundacja Lambda Polska. The march received the Honorary Patronage of the Representation of the European Commission in Poland, while the US Embassy sent a message of support.

Colorful and joyful—that is how the local press described the march in the capital of the Karkonosze Mountains. The first Equality March in Jelenia Góra carried a simple message: go vote! The guests included activist Babcia Kasia and drag queen Bom Belle from Poznań.

Members of parliament from the Left were present at the march: Robert Obaz and Paulina Piechna-Więckiewicz (Inicjatywa Polska, Akcja Ratujmy Kobiety), as well as Katarzyna Ueberhan.

For queer people from Jelenia Góra, this was an important event because they could see that they are not alone. We are everywhere: in every family, every school class, every industry and profession, in public offices, in the Church and in government. Great respect for the work and commitment of the volunteers. We also thank the representation of the European Commission for its patronage and the US Embassy for sending us a message of support.
