On Saturday (21 August), a match in the second round of the regional league was held at the MOSiR stadium in Lubań, between the home team Łużyce Lubań and league newcomer GKS Warta Bolesławiecka. The match, played in hot weather, was very interesting and evenly contested.

The hosts had the better start. Łużyce launched a concentrated attack on the GKS goal. After 15 minutes, the game began to even out, and the newcomer’s players increasingly came into their own. In the first half, both teams created opportunities to take the lead. However, none of the attacks ended with a goal. Marek Spychalski had the best chance to score. The GKS player took a free kick from approximately 25 metres. The ball struck the post.

The second half also featured many scoring chances for both teams. In the 75th minute, chaos broke out in the Łużyce penalty area. In the ensuing scramble in front of goal, Krzysztof Janicki put the ball into the net, making it 0–1. After conceding, the hosts launched a series of attacks. This led to an incident in the 85th minute, when GKS defender Tomasz Hyjek cleared the ball off the goal line with his head at the last moment.
