The incident occurred on Saturday, at around 9:30 a.m., between Włosień and Siekierczyn (Lubań County). As reported by the eluban.pl:

A row of old trees grows alongside the road at that location, and the Citroën driver crashed head-on into one of them.

The portal adds: – The force of the impact tore the engine out of the car, and one-third of the vehicle was crushed. Another driver came upon the scene and performed CPR on the elderly man until the emergency services arrived.

Later, firefighters attempted to restore the victim’s vital functions. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful as well.

The Lubań-based outlet adds:

The Citroën driver had been a patient at the hospital in Lubań. When the services had already received information about the accident, the hospital was reportedly notifying them that the patient was missing.
