On 31 May, at around 7 p.m., the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra was notified that an artillery shell from World War II had been found. – The shell was found during earthworks connected with the construction of a new house in Staniszów. Until the bomb-disposal specialists from the military unit in Bolesławiec arrived, the site was secured by Jelenia Góra police officers, including the mines and explosives reconnaissance team from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra – reports Sub-Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer for the Karkonosze police.
She adds: – On 1 June this year, the shell was removed by bomb-disposal specialists from Bolesławiec.
