The incident occurred on Wednesday, 18 August. The police duty officer received a report about a drunk driver who was driving a BMW along one of the streets in Bolesławiec. Shortly afterwards, a patrol stopped him for a roadside check. The driver turned out to be a 29-year-old man from Bolesławiec. He was intoxicated. A breath test showed 2 parts per thousand of alcohol. What is more, the man was subject to a fourfold ban on driving motor vehicles. He now faces up to 3 years in prison.

That day, officers also detained five other drunk drivers. The record-holder had more than 2.5 parts per thousand of alcohol in his system.
