On Tuesday, May 30, a working visit took place at the MOSiR Water and Sports Centre on Spacerowa Street in Bolesławiec, attended, among others, by representatives of Bolesławiec City Hall.
How are the works progressing?
– Last week, we began carrying out the project with demolition work – explained Marcin Tryka, project manager at ALSTAL. The aforementioned work will continue in June and July. (All buildings at the former outdoor swimming pools will be demolished.) During this time, the company intends to complete the formalities and then begin constructing a modern water park.
– In the case of this facility, we are talking about improving residents’ quality of life and the city’s appeal for those who come to Bolesławiec and those who settle here – explained the mayor of the City of Ceramics, Piotr Roman. – It is no coincidence that the construction of almost 1,500 new flats is now being planned in Bolesławiec. And it is not us who are building them, but private entrepreneurs.
The head of Bolesławiec City Hall added:
It is not about a monument to my term in office, as some people say. We are fighting for residents; all cities are fighting. Especially now, when few children are being born and we are experiencing a demographic crisis.
The mayor of the Municipality of Bolesławiec also stressed that this would supplement Bolesławiec’s water-based leisure offer, but in a way aimed at the whole family. – People of every age will find something for themselves here – he stated.
Older people will have heated brine water and a graduation tower at their disposal. There will be plenty of attractions for children, making the little ones fall in love with playing in the water and, consequently, making it easier to encourage them to learn to swim. Younger people will have, among other things, three swimming lanes.
As the mayor noted, the new water park on Spacerowa Street will be a place where families can spend plenty of their free time. The facility will include a large restaurant, as well as food trucks.
Parking spaces have not been forgotten either. The project is expected to be completed in May 2024. Details in the presentation below:
